There's a party in my tummy

11.27.2012

Hello dear readers
Not very much to say this time but I just want to share with you an amazing juice I have been making these days.
Ok, there is NO gram of no natural stuff in it, you just have to mix it all and you will get delicious results.
For a 500ml porcion you need:

-A Juicer (mine is a cheap brand one)
-3 oranges
-1 piece of celery
-1 beet
- 3 or 4 carrots
-1 green apple

Let the juicer make the magic and you will get this energizing and yummy juice. Just don't do that when everyone at home still sleeping, haha.

So then you have a great source of A, C, K, Iron, Potassium and more vitamins to strengthen your defenses against flu and cold weather :)

Hope you enjoy it.

Warm regards,
J.

Fall

11.02.2012

Hello dear readers,

Today I decided to stay at home. I know I know, I should've gone to school but instead I wanted to skip it and clean up my little cottage (it was a mess!!)  and update you guys of what is going on these days in my head.

I always like to share my readings although these last weeks has been basically about economy and global problems, I recently got borrowed this book "Organic Manifesto" that I highly recommend for everybody. You will discover how important is to keep our life away from the Big Markets and its unhealthy products and choose to live better without them. IT IS POSSIBLE!!

I also loved this week NYT Magazine The Body Issue. Fast Company has become a great source of news to me too. I am a designer student, so this kind of magazines inspire me to make great things.
And well, I plan to make myself an herbs oils moisturizing cream and scented candles, so wish me luck!!

I am becoming a little obsessed with natural things, then I though, well I can do that by myself.
I recently read that most of scented candles you find at stores are very toxic and and releases so many pollution. I heard about this some years ago, but I just realized it until now.

So, I know that there is nothing more relaxing and cozy than a cup a coffee, a nice book and a scented candle, but try to avoid those cheap candles from the dollar store, and pick a beewax with cotton wicks.
I leave you this link so you can check alternative options.

Hope you have a great and enjoyable season.
Lots of warm hugs
J.

Not everyone has the courage to expose the truth about ourselves.

What is Yoga?

10.07.2012

In words of my guru Tara Stiles:

 What is Yoga?
Yoga means union.
The sanskrit word yoga has many meanings: to unite, to join, to contemplate, and to be absorbed. When we practice it regularly, we unite our mind, body an spirit. We connect with ourselves, and we are able to connect more meaningfully with other and the world we are in.
Yoga is the ultimate act of self study. It is a daily dive deep into ourselves, where we come back refreshed and ready for all comers. Yoga goes much deeper than streching. How you live in your body, how you experience it, is how you live in your mind is tense your body is tense, and it dominos through the rest of your life. If your mind is out of balance, your body is out of balance, and your life can spiral out of control. If your mind is calm, open, and focused, your body and life also reflect and expand acordingly.

Breath, run, sweat, live

Inhale, Exhale

7.13.2012

Hello readers. I hope you still around there.

I cannot be more inspired those days with such beautiful and warm winds; walking more than ever, enjoying every morsel of my meals, reading about aphrodisicacs cuisine, really listening new music and spending quality times with my beloved one.

I am still working in my work out goal but now, I will give a chance to Yoga; today was my first session and it was an amazing experience.

I would like to share with you this song of Chambao, she has a beautiful and inspiring voice you can listen while you practice it.

Thanks for your time.
Blessings

Jeovanna.

Colorful summer

6.07.2012

I realized that for the first time, I'm enjoying the summer. I decided to change some bad habits and started to enjoy a simpler and healthier life.
Now I can see changes much faster compared when I worried too much about them. My new motto for the summer is "Good has not be complicated".
I've never been a big fan of high temperatures, but I think my reward is the delicious and exotic fruits of the season and see how it all begins to have a different vibe,  the flavors are citrus and people bathe in the sun.
I hope you enjoy it as much i do. :)

Goal in progress

4.29.2012

I am starting to work out again after almost 6 months. This time, I expect too much of myself, and I know that if I'm constant and strong I can exceed my own expectations.
Fingers crossed. :)

No hay más. Sólo mujer

4.20.2012

Back to Casa París

4.13.2012

I felt so much in love with this place, that I came back. But today, I found with the surprise that the owner of the place wanted me to take some pictures for the website. I felt so lucky that she liked my photography work.  This is just a few sample of the entire session I took today.
I really hope you like it as I did.
And, by the way, today was wonderful, almost a perfect day for me, except of my beloved had to work and leave me alone.

It's rainning, it's chilly, it's lovely.

Have a beautiful weekend.

My first camera, my first pictures

4.07.2012

(Self portrait. 2005)

A 4 megapixels Lumix Panasonic photo camera.
I still remember how hard I worked to buy it. It was arround 2005. Those kind of camera were expensive at that moment, because people still using instant cameras, trust me. and I was just a teenager who had started to work as an Informatic consultant in a Internet Cyber Coffee, (when people used to go to those places).
Right there is when I discovered this beautiful world of design software and photo editing.
I logged in DeviantArt for a first time, and at that point I realized that I wanted to be a digital photographer or whatever has to do with creating surreal things on the basis of visual art.

I found my perfect world of fantasy, of capturing thing I couldn't ever imagine before. I just loved it.
My beautiful camera became my best friend. I just can't believed I lost most of my first pictures when I booted my computer. But I feel relieved because I could saved a few.

Check it out…

My nickname used to be TheEndMyDear on DeviantArt, but I closed the account some years ago.
I'm proud of what did with my little camera and Photoshop 8 :)
Wow, It's been years since that, time goes so fast.

You don't need a super pro and expensive camera to capture the most beautiful things. The best tool you can have is your eyes and your heart to make it honest and beautiful. A good camera is just a plus to capture it better :)

Visual Journal. Friday

I have a museum at home :)
That's what inspire me, and feel so comfortable at home. I live in a tiny tiny department with my husband since we got married. I wish I could live in a bigger place, but I really feel grateful of living there, everything is near that I can walk if I have to go to the market or to the theather.
This is "my space" at my department, the rest unfortunalety is full of boxes where we need to put our things to save space. :/

If you notice on the picture there are some names who had gave me some of their own art and that I have the bless of being their friend.

Casa Paris

4.06.2012

It is so amazing how life works.
Today by the way (I think my blog has to be called like that, haha), I took a little walk to down town, 15 min away from home, just trying to clear my mind out t from some stuff I'm dealing right now, when, suddently I saw this place called Casa París (Paris Coffe House).

It's a new coffee shop with a very french style I just loved. This is what Tecate (my city) needed.
The prices are a little higher than the other coffee places but it really worths it, and the desserts are so delicious too. I also liked the image and concept design.

I had a Caramel Latte(my classic) and a Fruit Cheesecake and while I was enjoying of the place experience, I met an old friend. Her name is Evelyn and she is a fashion designer, she founded Noia  you can find her here.
I felt so excited when she invited me to collaborate together. She's looking for local people interested in fashion, photography, make up, style to help us each other and grow all professionally.

So, I'm going to let you know all the projects we do together and I hope this can be a great opportunity for me, so people know about what I do.

Good night everyone :)

Learning to enjoy

3.30.2012
I'd like to recommend this wine from Italy. I bought it at Food 4 Less. It's super cheap, I loved the sweet flavor it leaves in your palate. The interesting of this wine is that it's slightly fermented, so whatever your wine tasting level is, you will definitely enjoy.

I have to confess I am pretty new in wine tasting experience. The corks you can see in the pictures, are the bottles I've drank (well, most of them). So, if you know about a good wine, white or red, not too strong, I would love to know.

And by the way, I am officially on spring break. I hope to fully enjoy this time with my husband and to do what I like the most.

Thank you for passing by,
Have a great weekend.

Jeovanna.

‎Je t'aime trop Photoshoot

3.23.2012

Hello everyone, I am very  happy to share with you this photoshoot I made in collaboration of my my friends at school. It was so fun to collaborate  and work as a team.
My friend Andrea Balcazar made the make up, and Brenda is the model you can see in the pictures.
I am truly grateful with life now, there are some  points in life where you have to walk against many circunstances, economic, emotional, etc., but what it really matters is how to balance all that negative with something positive.

Photography for me, is the best therapy. It makes me feel creative and happy. To capture all around me from my own perception, it's just invaluable.

Wisdom

This is a quote subtracted from Octavio Paz best books called "La llama doble" (The double flame) which is about love, eroticism, and sex. Octavio Paz was a proud mexican writer and  Nobel Prize in Literature winner in 1990.

I strongly recommend you all to read this book, and all the rest of them too. His lyrics are simply filled of wisdom and sensitivity.

I really hope you like this beautiful words as I do.
